Terms of Use

Last updated: 4 August 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MateInvoice (the “Service”), operated by MateInvoice (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and using the Service for a business or trade. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.

2. What the Service does

MateInvoice helps you create quotes and invoices, manage clients and projects, track costs, generate reports, and (optionally) accept card payments from your customers. The Service is a tool to help you run your business — it is not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice.

3. Subscriptions & billing

4. Your content

You own the business data you put into the Service (clients, quotes, invoices, costs, etc.). You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display that data to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for making sure you have the right to use it.

5. Accepting customer payments (Stripe Connect)

If you connect your own Stripe account to accept payments, those payments are processed by Stripe and paid to your Stripe account. That relationship is between you and Stripe under Stripe’s terms. MateInvoice is not a party to those payments, does not hold your funds, and does not take a cut of your customer invoices. You are responsible for your own tax, GST and record-keeping obligations.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including using it unlawfully, sending spam, attempting to breach security or access other businesses’ data, or interfering with its operation.

7. Reports and GST

Reports (including Profit & Loss, GST summary and GST return figures) are generated from the data you enter and are provided to help you and your accountant. You should verify all figures before lodging a BAS or relying on them for tax purposes. We are not responsible for errors arising from incorrect or incomplete data.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change or discontinue features over time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MateInvoice is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue or data. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the Service or refunding the fees you paid in the previous 12 months.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. On termination you may request an export of your data, subject to reasonable time and record-keeping obligations.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you submit to the jurisdiction of the Australian courts.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date; continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
